Flower Retailers
Shopping online is habit-forming and sometimes we forget that there are other ways to do things. Buying local products from local vendors is the ideal, but there are very few places where flowers grow in the varieties and profusion that we can find in a good flower shop. When buying flowers, remember that not every flower is going to be available all the time. You’re unlikely to find daffodils anytime but spring, for instance. Flower crops are grown all over the world and your bouquet can be quite an international event!
When you do order flowers online remember the pictures are guidelines—no florist can guarantee that your arrangement will look exactly like the picture. Much depends on market availability. Perhaps a major supplier was in the path of, say, a hurricane or some other event. Remember, very few flowers in the vast array in a florist shop come from anywhere near that shop. They need to have grown somewhere and then been shipped somewhere else. We’re not talking about mass-produced doohickies here. Mother Nature is involved in the process.
